This makes complete sense. You are not supplicating with a question-like “-can I have your number-“-you are confidently moving both of you into action.
I agree with this because I think it’s really important that the girl be invested in the conversation and with you at the point of giving you her number. I have always hated gaming for a girl’s number because it makes the whole mating process so much longer and tedious. So I think this is great advice.

hey, this is good stuff, Ross. I used this and the girls would always give me their numbers.
I’m a young student so I sarge in college, they’re mostly younger women and some prefer simpler words, so I paraphrase it to, “hey, you’re pretty cool. We definitely should hang out later.” and then, “alright, what steps do we have to take, to make sure that happens?”
it may sound strange but if you have been talking about things that trigger her emotional states, she will respond to that, she will imagine actual steps to get there. 😀
and it may sound like asking her to lead, but it shows that you’re not needy. It’s a challenge because you’re not ‘asking’ for the number. So she doesn’t put you in the category of “suitor” in her mind.
