Dear Seeker of Success,
My teacher, Shinzen Young, said, “If you can’t be disciplined, be smart.”
If you know you can’t be disciplined to do a practice, commit yourself in some other way.
Let me give you an example.
Let’s say you have a strength trainer you go to twice a week for strength training. You may be great with your workouts on the day-to-day, but what happens when you go on vacation, travel, or just get swamped with work?
Yep – working out pretty much goes to the side.
Sit your strength trainer down and say,
I know that after one or two attempts, I’m going to forget about working out, and then I’m going to feel lousy. I need to make myself accountable, so here’s what I would like to do. I’d like to write you or the gym a check for $750.
If I can’t honestly check in twice a week and say, “I did this workout for at least 20 to 30 minutes,” then you keep the money. If I report in and do all that, then you give me the check back. I know my weakness. I know that, otherwise, I’m not going to do it.
For $750, you’ll probably do it.
See, that’s being smart about getting the job done, as opposed to beating yourself up about how you should be working out.
What About Being Disciplined When
Improving Your Girl-Getting Game?
Pick a sarge buddy and hold yourself accountable to him if you can.
Say, “I’m committed to doing this much sarging” (10 approaches every week, making subtle changes in how you conversate with women, etc.) and report in to him.
(You can report in to me during “Call My Cell Phone” office hours – that’s 3 times a month you and I can talk one-on-one.)
But it’s also good to have a sarge buddy.
In short: form a community. Get the people around you to help you be more disciplined.
Be smart.
Peace,
RJ
P.S. Now, wouldn’t it be great to have incredible girl-getting power at your command; to light up women’s fantasies, desires, and the deepest parts of their minds and brains, so their hottest feelings are turned towards you?
Could you be disciplined, or smart about getting disciplined, toward getting these results?
