    RJ,

My condolences on your father’s passing… He’s now in a better place.

I think the notes are a great idea to add to the videos. It allows the viewers to pay attention, now, and grasp a deeper understanding. (notice the embedded commands)
    🙂

    Lu

ps. contact me via email (when available) I want to assist you in spreading the word.

    Hey’

I think it makes the video(s) much more valuable, information and education wise, not only to new comers but as well as for advanced students. A realy great idea!! very good idea!! Also think your “notes” on the other videos would be a fantastic idea. Thanks for sharing…

    Hey Paul,

I’m not gonna blow you, but I love the video and the comments. I particularly needed my focus brought back to “go for the feeling first”.

Personally, I would love for you to go through all the videos and add comments. It adds immense value to the already priceless free videos.

Between NYIG and Shinzen meditations, I’ve been focusing on inner game and I have let my practice of language patterns fall to the side. This is a refresher I could definitely use.

    Thanks for all you do!

    Keep smiling,

    ben

    Ross

Sorry to hear of your loss, no matter where your father is now, his spirit lives on in your heart and through your teachings. Take it easy

    Best Wishes

    Where are the notes?

The video is great, but I don’t see any below your video

    Am I missing something???

    Ross,

It’s like what my friend was telling me, that when you allow yourself to realize.. that a person can learn soo much when you.. stop, and imagine what the client sees… and thoroughly test everything they may view on-screen… that the fact is… The YouTube annotation feature is still in beta and at the time of this writing it does not currently work in embedded videos (i.e. viewing vids from your site).

It could vary though across different browser platforms though — still, it didn’t work for me and I wasn’t sure what you were talking about until I clicked on the embedded video that took me to its actual YouTube page — they work only there for some reason as of right now.

Here is an excerpt from YouTube on their new feature:

“Video annotations are available now as a “beta” feature. We’re working hard to get this out of beta and, once we do, annotations will support more languages (not just English) and appear on videos EMBEDDED in OTHER websites. ”

Just a heads up. 😉 (so be sure to mention that on your blog!)

Now, you wanted c&c on what I think of this new feature:

I like how you only used a few annotation bubbles — keep it that way and not much more — as they can be overwhelming if too many are added. (I personally like to pause the video myself when they pop-up so I can read without splitting my consciousness between trying to watch & listen to the video while trying to read the commentary — kind of like when you say, “Look at me, but pay attention to your hands.” In fact there was a study I read about a year ago that scientifically proved that presenting power-point presentations while lecturing is NOT the way to go. It’s ok to view the slides afterward, but focus on them should not be happening while you’re talking.

In fact… Here I found the article (my brother sent me in April ’07). Don’t worry, it’s very brief and my comment is probably longer than it is short. Here, you’l find it just right below. Me, I find it convenient adding a new line 😛 :

No wonder why I never felt like I was comprehending any literature in school when the teachers thought it was fun to call on kids to read aloud and everyone “follow along”.

Anyway, I’m getting a little off track and really ought to be going.

Thanks for the vids — they are especially a great review from what I’ve learned over the past (going on) 4 years.

    Best Regards,

    – Mat

P.S. Why do you always use ‘Debbie’ in your examples? Does it have anything to do with that infamous cowboy movie when you say, “For example, when we combine the weasle phrase ‘if you were to’ with the command ‘feel horny. Now, with me… Debbie, I find that a person really shouldn’t allow those desires to multiply too fast, because you may find yourself acting on them in ways that you normally wouldn’t, allow yourself.’…” ?

I love your comments! They show the basic rules, the roots and the trunk of the humain brain process. So, instead of getting lost in the details (the branches to the leaves), we always can relate to the fundamentals, thus your comments. Understanding the basics is the key to grasp every aspect. It’s like the astronote working around the vessel freely. He can’t get lost due to the cable he is hooked to.

Unfortulatly, we can’t highlight those important comments in order to copy & paste them into our note files.

Youtube should improve this Beta version by offering an option to the autor to synchronize each comment with a “Copy Comment” link or button. That would stop the video and show a pup-up BOX (NOT a window) with the text already selected. After the copy-paste into a file, comming back to the video would automaticaly resume the viewing by the script instruction ‘onFocus’.

Also, an option “Show/hide Comments” should be available to the viewers. This way, everybody will be happy including those who don’t want the comments.

Regardless of the field of action, there is always room for improvement.

    Peace, health and love,

    Daniel
