The More Your Sarge, The More You Score

Dear Seeker of Success,

Sarging, like sales, is a “numbers game.”

Sometimes she will tell you “no” even when you thought she was definitely going to bang you.

Sometimes she flakes.

Sometimes she ghosts.

Sometimes she wastes your time that, had you known, you could have more productively spent Sarging on her even hotter roommate.

That’s Life In The Fast Lane, Fellas.

Part of life.

Can’t be helped.

Case in point, this e-mail I got:

The other night I met a hot woman who showed lots of interest in me. I established rapport well, entertained her well. I had her laughing, smiling, her attention was focused on me completely for 15 minutes. Later on she approached me to continue the conversation. Again, things went very well. She was very into me. She gave me her number, and kissed me good night.

I called her the next morning and said she was busy at work and could she call me back. She called back after 10 minutes. It was a great conversation and she agreed to call me next week when she’s back from a trip she’s leaving for.

Then, she called me again 10 minutes later. She said she had to be honest with me – that she is seeing someone, and that it would cause big difficulties in her relationship if she goes out with me. I said, ok, sure, I’ll leave it up to you. She said she’d had a great night with me last night and she’d been a bit drunk. She thanked me for understanding her situation.

What happened here? How do I stop this from happening again?
