find yourself with a smile... August 12, 2008, 8:34 pm

    Thank you, Ross.

I had been meditating for over 10 years before NYIG and Shinzen Young. Before this, I had a bad impression of Buddhist meditation… everything I read seemed like vague, feel-good nonsense.

But Shinzen is very specific. In NYIG, your exercises are very specific, and incredibly powerful. Although I’ve been a big fan of your work in seduction for a while, I feel that your new approach is revolutionary for all aspects of life… for those that are willing to do the work!

    keep smiling,

Thanks. I have never met a teacher, prior to Shinzen, who could take all of these concepts that seemed so airy-fairy to me in the past, and bring them down to earth with observable, measurable procedures, systematically constructed and laid out.

And I had a bad impression of Buddhist meditation as well, because I confused it with mantra-japa-(eg. Hari Krishna, Nyom Yoho Rengekokopufss, TM).

Those are all examples of repetitions of words or sounds which CAN have an effect in constructing certain states of consciousness.

I could do a week on meditation and how the various styles work well with magick/hypnosis, etc. One day I will.

Here’s to altered states that are useful, empower us, and serve life all around…
